Week 4 Today I got to shoot for a Fred Meyer ad coming out on December 9th. I got to shoot two small picture frames, the basic light set up was one strip box at on the background, a beauty dish and scrim on the left side and a medium soft box on the right side. The picture frames were on fishing wire hanging from a c-stand arm and wax on the back so the frames wouldn't spin around. It was pretty exciting to do. I am looking forward to seeing it in the ad even if it is only a small section. I also learned in more detail about the equipment and helped to clean up stuff around the set. Another photographer also showed me a tilt shift lens it was pretty cool to see how that worked. Another tip I learned today was if you are shooting with a camera facing downward on a stand, tape the lens so the rings inside don't move after time. I got a talk through capture one and how they use it in the studio.

Week 3 This week I help out with setting up lights, soft boxes, c stands, beauty dish.  As well as learning the ins and outs of the studio, and learning how they store things.  I also learned some new techniques when shooting simple product stuff.  Such as using dental wax to keep things in place, and using a lego block to make them pop out.  During one of the product shots, the flash tube blew up.  So now I know how much glass spreads around when the flash tube breaks.  Realization is sinking in of how much I do not know.  For one product shot of a chair, we used seven lights to feature a chair in a house with sunlight coming through curtains.  I am learning a lot from just being the third week of my internship, and I still have a lot more to learn.
Week 2 This week at Iridio, I first helped the food styalist make some white chocolate gum drop bark. Which they used later for a dish shot with other cookies and candy in the bowls. I also met some new models and saw some of the others I had met before. I helped one of the photographers move lights around and set up part of his new set. He told me how to get even light over everything and how to know if the bottom is too bright to put a black net in front of a white scrim and how it helps balance the light. That is how to get rid of high intensity on the bottom of the shot. For most of the product shots they had two strip boxs on the sides of the set, medium in size. Then they also had a small strip box above everything, aimed at the white background. At the end of the day I got to meet Fred Meyer's second best styalist manager. They were setting up for a Christmas Morning shoot, for the newspaper ad. At the end of the Christmas shoot, they had me take a couple of photos of the s...
